2011 was an exciting year for NOT WITHOUT OUR WOMEN. Last March Caroline, Andy and I were off to Athens, Ohio, for a very successful reading of the show at ArtsWest Theatre. We regrouped a bit and made some decisions about plot, character, musical changes etc. Then in November, as finalists in the Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre’s Scriptfest competition, we headed off to Asheville, North Carolina, to participate as one of four finalist plays. More conversation and rewriting…and now… we are ready for another SF reading.
This time around we are being sponsored by 3Girls Theatre, for whom I am an Associate Playwright. The new company will present premieres and readings of plays by women playwrights at Thick House on Portrero Hill in San Francisco throughout March. As part of Women’s History Month, we will present a reading on March 12 and 13th, 2012. It’s free and open to the public. Hope to see you there!
