It’s a finalist for the Short Attention Span Festival. For some reason, that play really resonates with people!
I took “Busybody” in to be read at Scene Night at the Playwrights Center, expecting a cool response. Instead, people were intrigued and most loved it. Victor called it “dangerous.” I have been working on beefing it up into a 20-minute play. I may submit it to BOA 2008.
“Busybody” is set in military housing at Fort Sill, OK. Missy, an inquisitive neighbor, visits Laura, whose husband is a drill sergeant at the injured recruit barracks. What Missy finds is beyond her worst nightmares . . .
