Disappointed, but happy nonetheless

Here is the notification I received from Estrogenius 2009:

“We received hundreds of submissions for only 20 slots, and the caliber of submissions was extremely high, making our decision extremely difficult.
Although we did not choose your piece to be part of the festival this year, your submission was one of a very select few that were given serious consideration. It has been named a finalist for the festival.  Congratulations.  Final selection ultimately had more to do with programming considerations than the merit of the individual work.”

Bolding theirs.

Oh well. On another note, “It’s Murder, Mary!” will be produced by the Emerald Theatre Company in the Fall. I carry on.
